FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the igloos made of ice?
The igloos are not made out of ice. They are made out of fiberglass and acrylic shells, with insulation on the inside!
What amenities are available in my igloo?
Each room at Borealis Basecamp comes with a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizing hand cream, free in-room wireless internet, a hot water kettle, mini fridge, and complimentary hot cocoa, tea, and coffee. All rooms have a private bathroom.*Please note that we do not have a microwave on property available.
Can I request a specific igloo?
We do try our hardest to place our guests in their preferred room. That being said, we often need to change our guests’ room placements based on a variety of factors, including availability and the mobility of other guests. Please understand that we have been designed for optimal aurora viewing, and every igloo on the property has a great view of the aurora. We do not guarantee igloo placement.
Is Basecamp handicap accessible?
At this time, every room has several steps leading up to it.
How many people can fit in an igloo?
Our igloo rooms feature a queen bed and a single trundle bed, accommodating up to three people. For larger groups, consider our Family Cubes.
Does my igloo have a private bath?
Yes. All rooms on the property have their own private baths.
How far is the walk from my room to the restaurant?
Depending on your room, the walk to our three restaurants is less than 5 minutes.
