Borealis Basecamp guests stay in private fiberglass igloos similar to those utilized by polar expeditions and research stations. Crafted exclusively to maximize aurora viewing and guest comfort, these igloos are intimate retreats in the midst of the Alaska winter. The unique location of Borealis Basecamp also provides a truly immersive glimpse into life in rural Alaska; a life different from other destinations around the world. Guests are invited to embrace this experience, in harmony with their own sense of belonging within the Alaska wilderness.

Beverage Bar

Enjoy hot coffee, cocoa or tea in the igloo on the live edge breakfast bar. Savor the views as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. Important note for guests: with a commitment to reducing electricity usage, domes are not equipped with cooking facilities. Guests are highly encouraged to utilize Latitude 65, our onsite restaurant.

Facilities

Life off the grid doesn’t mean primitive. Borealis Basecamp igloos have full baths offering a shower, hairdryer, toilet, and vanity sink with all the comforts travelers expect. All domes are thoughtfully provided with soap, conditioner, and shampoo.
