For those seeking a deeper journey into the Alaska wilderness, our three-night package offers an immersive blend of thrilling adventure and quiet wonder.
The centerpiece of your stay is an extended three-hour guided snowmobile tour that takes you into the rugged backcountry for lunch at our remote forest outpost. You will also connect with local tradition during a one-hour Alaska sled dog experience, meeting the incredible dogs and learning about life on the trail.
This package also provides extra time in case you’d like to add on additional adventures like a helicopter flightseeing tour or a Sunset Snowcoach Tour.
After days filled with exploration, return to the comfort of your private Igloo or Cube to watch for the northern lights, with an aurora wake-up call included to ensure you don’t miss a moment of the magic.

Day 1
Welcome to Borealis Basecamp! Today you’ll be picked up by the shuttle at your reserved time for an hour drive to Basecamp, please be ready at least 30 minutes prior.
On arrival, your shuttle driver will deliver your luggage to your igloo while you’re greeted by our incredible staff. From there, you will be ushered to your Arctic Igloo for an evening of Aurora Viewing. Dinner is available at Latitude 65, our on-site restaurant.
Day 2
Today you will experience the rugged backcountry of Alaska and see the trails behind Borealis Basecamp. On this 3 hour long guided tour, stop for photo opportunities on the trail and hot beverages with snacks. Includes winter gear and an introductory lesson from our tour guides.
The evening is for your leisure. Enjoy the Aurora from your cozy cube or igloo!
Day 3
Today is your Alaska sled dog tour! Meet real Alaskan racing sled dogs and learn about life on the trail as you swing through the snowy forest.
After lunch, grab a trail map or fat tire bikes from our guide staff and take off on an adventure through maintained trails throughout the property. Fat tire bikes are available for check-out from the front desk free of charge during your entire stay.
Day 4
Check out is at 11:00am, and a Borealis Basecamp shuttle will take you back to Fairbanks. We can drop you off at any major Fairbanks hotel or the airport.

Up here on the ridge, we don’t use the season’s names like everyone else. Depending on the time of your visit, you can have distinct experiences:
AUTUMN
Are you a leaf peeper aficionado? This is the time for you to visit. Combine fall colors with non-snow adventures and sleep under the northern lights.

What you would typically think of as winter in Alaska. Short days and long, dark nights – the most time to watch the aurora dance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reschedule my reservation?
Yes! We allow 2 reschedules per reservation for a $50 change fee each and must be done 45 days prior to check in. Rescheduling your reservation can be done up to 2 seasons in the future. Please note, any price increases are the guest’s responsibility and is due 45 days prior to check in.
Can I have a late check-out or an early check-in?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee these at Basecamp, as we are often booked to capacity. However, we are always happy to hold your luggage at our front desk should you arrive early or leave late. Check-in time is 4pm and checkout time is 11am.
What is the difference between the Adventure packages and the Leisure packages?
Our packages are slightly different to accommodate various experiences. All of our Adventure packages include the more high-octane, adventure excursions that include a snowmobile.
Our Leisure packages offer a little slower experiences like the Aurora Portrait Photography session as well as plent of down time to enjoy the property’s saunas.
NOTE: Participants on the snowmobiling tours must be 16 years or older, so for families, the Leisure packages work really well.
Can I bring my pet?
We do not allow pets at Borealis Basecamp. Service animals are permitted with the appropriate documentation. Only one animal per igloo, please. Most activities are not animal-friendly, and we do not offer crates or any animal-sitting services. Please plan accordingly!Emotional support animals are not allowed.
Is there alcohol at Basecamp?
We have a great selection of wines, local beers, and handcrafted cocktails available at Latitude 65 and The Pub!
Are there any discounts available?
We offer a 15% discount to guests who are military personnel, Alaska residents, or returning for their second trip to Borealis Basecamp. Make sure to mention at the time of booking if you are eligible for one of these discounts! (Please note that to receive a military or Alaskan discount, one must present their ID at the time of check-in.) Discounts cannot be applied at check-in and must be requested to the Reservations within 48 hours of booking.
