Day 1
Welcome to Borealis Basecamp! Today you’ll be picked up by the shuttle at your reserved time for an hour drive to Basecamp, please be ready at least 30 minutes prior.
On arrival, your shuttle driver will deliver your luggage to your cube while you’re greeted by our incredible staff. From there, you will be ushered to your Arctic Cube for an evening of Aurora Viewing. Dinner is available at Latitude 65, our on-site restaurant.
Day 2
Today you will experience the rugged backcountry of Alaska and see the trails behind Borealis Basecamp. Included is your snow machine tour. On this 3 hour long guided tour, stop for photo opportunities on the trail and eat lunch at our remote forest outpost. Includes winter gear and an introductory lesson from our tour guides.
The evening is for your leisure. Enjoy the Aurora from your cozy Igloo or Cube!
Day 3
Hit the trail and experience the Alaskan backcountry. Meet real Alaskan racing sled dogs and learn about life on the trail as you swing through the snowy forest.
After lunch, grab a trail map or fat tire bikes from our guide staff and take off on an adventure through maintained trails throughout the property. Fat tire bikes are available for check-out from the activities desk free of charge during your entire stay.
The evening is for your leisure. Enjoy the Aurora from your cozy Igloo or Cube!
Day 4
Time for your Reindeer Meet & Greet! Your tour guide will introduce you to our on-site reindeer, for a 30 minute long tour in the enclosure. You’ll have the opportunity to feed our resident as you learn how they live year round in the Arctic.
This afternoon will be your Basecamp snow coach tour. On this 2-hour-long tour, you will ride along the ‘fire break’ in front of Borealis Basecamp in the heated cab of our snow coach. The fire break was created 7 years ago as a way to keep fires from crossing one side of the forest to another, and now provides us with a beautiful open space to view animal tracks or, if you’re lucky, see some wild animals! Halfway through the tour you will come to a scenic viewpoint, where your guide will pour you a drink (champagne, local beer, or a soda of your choice), which you can drink while watching the sunset.
Day 5
Today you depart from Borealis Basecamp at 11:00am. Your shuttle will pick you up from the main lodge. Please feel free to leave your bags in your cube, and check out with the front desk prior to your shuttle back into Fairbanks!
Transportation
Included in your package are multiple options for pick up and departure. Please keep in mind that the pick up windows start a half hour before stated pick up time. Departure times are when listed, and it takes about an hour to return to Fairbanks.
